To reach the Ernest Hemingway Birthplace Museum at 339 N Oak Park Ave, you can take the Pace Bus Route 550 from the Elgin Transportation Center. Board the bus in the direction of Oak Park. The trip will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at the 'Oak Park & Lake' bus stop, disembark and walk east on Lake Street until you reach N Oak Park Ave. Turn left and continue walking north for about 5 minutes until you arrive at the museum.

From Elgin, you can also take the Metra train service. Start at the Elgin Metra Station and board the Union Pacific Northwest Line train heading towards Chicago. You will need to get off at the Oak Park station (approximately a 35-minute ride). Once you exit the station, head east on North Boulevard until you reach N Oak Park Ave. Turn right and walk south for about 10 minutes to reach the museum.
