Walking
From within Lords Park, the zoo is easily accessible on foot. Follow the paved paths south from the Elgin Public Museum or the main parking areas near Oakwood Boulevard. The zoo is located at the south end of the park and is a short walk from most park amenities.
Public Transport
Pace Bus Route 550 serves the area near Lords Park. From the nearest bus stop at Highland Ave & Park St, walk east on Highland Ave, then south on N Park Blvd into Lords Park. Follow the park road to the south to reach the zoo. A single ride on Pace costs $2.00.
Driving
From downtown Elgin, drive east on Chicago Street, then turn north onto N Liberty Street, which becomes N Park Blvd. Continue north into Lords Park. Follow signs for parking near the Elgin Public Museum or the Lords Park Pavilion. From these parking areas, the zoo is a short walk south. Parking is free.
