If you are in downtown Elgin, start at the Elgin Public Library at 270 N Grove Ave. Head south on Grove Ave toward the Fox River. Once you reach the river, turn left onto the Fox River Trail. Follow the trail along the river, enjoying the scenic views. Continue walking north along the trail for approximately 1 mile. You will see signs for Walton Island Park. The park entrance will be on your left, just after you pass the Elgin History Museum.
