Walking
If you are starting from downtown Evanston, head east on Church Street until you reach Sheridan Road. Turn left (north) on Sheridan Road and continue walking until you reach Dawes Park. Arrington Lagoon is located within the park at 1647 Sheridan Rd. The walk should take approximately 15-20 minutes.
Biking
For those with a bicycle, you can ride from downtown Evanston. Start on Church Street, heading east, then turn north on Sheridan Road. There are bike lanes along Sheridan Road, and you can park your bike at the bike racks available at Dawes Park. The ride will take around 10-15 minutes, depending on your speed.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transport, you can take Metra's Union Pacific North Line from the Central Street station or the Davis Street station to the Evanston station. From the station, walk east on Davis Street until it intersects with Sheridan Road. Turn left (north) on Sheridan Road and walk until you reach Dawes Park. This route will take about 10-15 minutes on foot after your train ride.
