Getting There

• Walking

  From Galena's Main Street, cross the Galena River via the pedestrian bridge. Grant Park is located directly across the bridge on Park Avenue. The walk is short and offers scenic views of the river and downtown Galena.

• Public Transport

  Jo Daviess County Transit provides public transportation within Galena. The general fare is $0.50 each way, but a 24-hour advance notice is required. Check the City of Galena website for the most up-to-date schedules and route information.

• Taxi/Ride-Share

  Taxi services and ride-sharing options like Uber are available in Galena. A short trip from downtown to Grant Park will likely cost between $8 and $15, depending on the service and demand.

• Driving

  From Highway 20, follow signs to Park Avenue. Limited paid parking is available at the City of Galena's parking lot near the Old Train Depot on Bouthillier Street, east of the river. Parking rates vary, but expect to pay around $1-$2 per hour. Free parking is also available at remote parking lots with shuttle service to downtown Galena on weekends from June through October. During special events, such as the Galena Country Fair, vehicle access to Grant Park may be altered.
