After approximately 1.5 miles, turn right onto Panther Den Road. Continue on this road until you reach the trailhead parking area for Panther Den Wilderness, which should be clearly marked.

    If you are relying on public transportation, your best option is to take a bus to Carbondale, IL, which is the nearest city with public transit options. Once in Carbondale, you may need to use a rideshare service or taxi to reach Makanda, as public transport does not directly service Panther Den Wilderness.
