    If you are already in Matthiessen State Park, head towards the River Trail. Follow the signs that indicate Wildcat Canyon. The trail is well-marked, and the walk from the main parking area to Wildcat Canyon is approximately 1 mile and typically takes about 20-30 minutes depending on your pace.   • Driving

    If you are driving to Matthiessen State Park, take I-39 and exit at IL-71. Follow IL-71 to the entrance of Matthiessen State Park. Once inside, proceed to the main parking lot. From there, you will need to walk to Wildcat Canyon as there are no vehicle access points directly to the canyon.
