Start by finding the nearest Metra station in Oak Lawn, which is Oak Lawn Station on the SouthWest Service line. Board a train heading towards Chicago Union Station. Once you arrive at Union Station, exit the station and head to the nearby Clark/Lake subway station. Take the 'Loop' train towards Washington/Wells. Get off at State/Lake and transfer to the Red Line towards Howard. Ride the Red Line for 5 stops until you reach the Grand station. From there, exit the station and walk east on Grand Avenue for about 10 minutes until you reach the Chicago Children's Museum located at 700 E Grand Ave.

Locate the nearest Pace bus stop in Oak Lawn. You can take the Pace Route 349 towards the Chicago Ridgeland Station. After about 30 minutes, get off at the Ridgeland Station and transfer to the CTA Green Line train towards Ashland. Ride the Green Line for 5 stops and transfer at the Clark/Lake station to the Blue Line. Take the Blue Line towards O'Hare and get off at Washington. Transfer to the Red Line and head towards 95th/Dan Ryan. After 3 stops, get off at the Grand station. Walk east on Grand Avenue for about 10 minutes to reach the Chicago Children's Museum at 700 E Grand Ave.

If you are already in the downtown Oak Lawn area, you can simply walk east towards Cicero Avenue. From there, head north until you reach 95th Street. Continue on 95th Street until you reach the nearest bus stop for the Pace Route. Take the bus towards Chicago and get off at the nearest stop to the Grand station. From there, walk east on Grand Avenue for about 10 minutes to arrive at the Chicago Children's Museum located at 700 E Grand Ave.
