From anywhere in Oak Lawn, head to the Oak Lawn Metra Station located at 95th St and S. Ridgeland Ave. Board the Metra train on the SouthWest Service line towards Chicago Union Station. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the 18th St. station. Once you exit the station, walk east to the intersection of 18th St and W. Polk St. From there, catch the #12 Bus (Halsted) heading north. After about 10 minutes, get off at the 18th St & Michigan Ave stop. Walk east along 18th St until you reach S. Lake Shore Dr. Turn left and walk north; the Field Museum will be on your right at 1400 S Lake Shore Dr.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a local bike-sharing program. Start at the Oak Lawn Village Hall and head north on Cicero Ave. Take a right on 95th St and continue until you reach the bike path that leads you to the Lakefront Trail. Follow the trail north along the lakeshore until you reach the Field Museum at 1400 S Lake Shore Dr. Ensure to follow all bike safety rules and wear a helmet.

For those who enjoy walking, start from the Oak Lawn Village Center at 9446 S Raymond Ave. Head north on Raymond Ave to 95th St. Turn left onto 95th St and walk towards Cicero Ave. From Cicero Ave, you can turn right and continue north until you reach 18th St. Here, turn left and continue until you reach S. Lake Shore Dr. Turn right, and the Field Museum will be visible on your left. Note that this is a longer walk, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes.
