From Oak Lawn, walk to the nearest Metra station, which is the Oak Lawn station located at 9500 S Central Ave. Take the Metra train on the Southwest Service Line towards Chicago Union Station. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the Union Station stop. From Union Station, transfer to the Pink Line 'L' train towards 18th. Get off at the Damen stop, and then transfer to the Blue Line towards O'Hare. Ride until you reach the Division stop. Finally, transfer to the #70 Division bus towards California and get off at the Fullerton Ave and Lake Shore Dr stop. Walk east towards the beach area.

Start at the Oak Lawn Village Hall bus stop at 9446 S Cook Ave. Board the #349 bus towards the Chicago Ridge Mall. Ride for about 15 minutes and get off at the stop at 95th St and Ridgeland Ave. From there, transfer to the #49 bus towards Western and ride for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the stop at Fullerton Ave and Lake Shore Dr. Walk east for a few minutes to reach Fullerton Beach.
