To get to Holy Name Cathedral at 735 N State St, Chicago, IL 60654 from Palatine, start by heading to the Palatine Metra Station located at 137 W Wood St. Purchase a ticket to the Chicago Union Station on the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line. The trains run frequently, so check the schedule. Once you arrive at Chicago Union Station, exit the station and walk to the nearby Clark/Lake station. Take the 'Brown Line' or 'Purple Line' towards Kimball or Linden respectively. Get off at the 'State/Lake' station. From there, walk east on Washington St towards State St, then turn left onto N State St. Holy Name Cathedral will be on your left at 735 N State St.

If you prefer to travel by bus, you can take the Pace Bus Route 696 from Palatine. Board the bus at any designated stop along the route towards the 'Schaumburg' direction. Get off at the 'Schaumburg Transit Center' and transfer to the 'Pace Bus Route 600' towards 'Chicago'. This bus will take you into the city. Once you reach the city, you can get off at the nearest stop to N State St. From there, walk north on N State St until you reach 735 N State St, where Holy Name Cathedral is located.

For those who enjoy biking, you can rent a bike in Palatine and take the local bike paths towards Chicago. Start from the Palatine Park District bike trails and head southeast towards the city. Follow the trails that lead you to the Des Plaines River Trail and eventually connect to city bike lanes leading to downtown Chicago. Once you reach downtown, navigate towards N State St, and find your way to 735 N State St, where Holy Name Cathedral is located.

If you find yourself in a more central location in Palatine and don't mind a long walk, you can navigate through the streets heading towards the Metra Station and then take public transportation as previously mentioned.
