From Palatine, head to the nearest bus stop for the Pace Bus Route 696, which you can find along Northwest Highway (Route 14). Board the bus heading towards the Metra Train Station in Arlington Heights. Once at the station, transfer to the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line towards Chicago. After approximately 40 minutes, disembark at the 'Clybourn' station. From there, walk east for about 15 minutes until you reach Lincoln Park Zoo located at 2001 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60614.

Make your way to the Palatine Metra Station located at 137 W Wood St. Board the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line train towards Chicago. Get off at the 'Clybourn' stop, which takes about 40 minutes. Upon exiting the train station, you can either walk east for about 15 minutes to reach Lincoln Park Zoo, or catch the #8 bus (Halsted) from Clybourn Avenue to get closer to the zoo entrance.
