Public Transit
From Palatine Metra Station, board the Union Pacific Northwest Line train towards Chicago. Make sure to get on a train that stops at the Ogilvie Transportation Center. Once you arrive at Ogilvie, transfer to the CTA Brown Line by following the signs to the Washington/Wells station. Board the Brown Line train towards Kimball and get off at the Sedgwick station. Exit the station and walk east on W. North Avenue for about two blocks until you reach N. Wells Street. Turn left onto Wells Street and continue until you reach W. Walton Street. Turn right onto W. Walton Street, and the Newberry Library will be on your left at 60 W Walton St.

If you are already in the downtown Palatine area, head southeast on N. Brockway St. toward E. Wood St. Continue straight until you reach the Palatine Metra Station. From there, follow the public transit instructions above to reach the Newberry Library.
Bicycle
If you are cycling, start from the Palatine Metra Station and head southeast on N. Brockway St toward E. Wood St. Follow local bike paths or roads heading toward the city center. You can utilize the North Branch Trail which connects to the Chicago River Trail, leading you closer to downtown Chicago. Once you get to the downtown area, navigate towards W. North Avenue, then turn onto N. Wells Street and follow it to W. Walton Street. The Newberry Library will be on your left at 60 W Walton St.
