Boyington, the architect behind Chicago's Water Tower, the building first served as the Second Presbyterian Church of Peoria. After decades of worship, the building transitioned through various uses, including a chapter home for the Eastern Star, and later housed business offices and art studios. In 2015, the Conn family, recognizing the building's beauty and scale, purchased the property and transformed it into the second location for Obed & Isaac's Microbrewery and Eatery, opening in September 2016. The brewery offers a range of craft beers, including flagship brews like Ditzy Blonde and seasonal options. The food menu features Illinois favorites like the Horseshoe, along with flatbread pizzas made from grains used in the brewing process. Visitors can explore the architecture, enjoy the outdoor beer garden, and even play bocce ball or sand volleyball. The brewery also hosts events throughout the year, making it a community hub.
