Car
If you are driving, start by getting on IL-171 S from any location in Prairie State. Follow signs for IL-171 S towards Elmwood Park. Continue on IL-171 S until you reach the exit for I-290 W towards Rockford. Merge onto I-290 W and follow it for approximately 5 miles. Take exit 22A for IL-64 W toward North Avenue. After about 2 miles, take the exit toward IL-43 N/Harlem Ave. Merge onto IL-43 N/Harlem Ave and continue for about 1 mile. Turn right onto W 5th Ave, and you will find Cernan Earth & Space Center at 2000 5th Ave, River Grove, IL 60171.

For public transportation, start by heading to the nearest Metra train station in Prairie State. Take the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line towards Elgin. Get off at the River Grove station. From the River Grove station, it is approximately a 20-minute walk to Cernan Earth & Space Center. Head south on 1st Ave toward Grand Ave, then turn left onto Grand Ave. Continue until you reach 5th Ave, then turn right. Cernan Earth & Space Center will be on your left at 2000 5th Ave, River Grove, IL 60171. Note that walking directions may vary based on exact starting location, and it might be wise to check a map.
