Driving
Allerton Park & Retreat Center is located at 515 Old Timber Rd, Monticello, IL 61856. From Monticello Courthouse Square, head southwest on Illinois Route 105/Bridge Street. Turn left onto Old Timber Road. The park entrance is on the right. Parking is free. During concerts and special events, parking attendants will direct you to available lots, with shuttle service from auxiliary lots to the Gatehouse Lawn.

From Champaign-Urbana, take a local bus route to Monticello. From the Monticello bus stop, a taxi or rideshare service is required to reach Allerton Park, approximately 3.5 miles southwest of town. Taxi fare may range from $10 to $20.

From the main parking lot, follow the signs to the McCraw Family Visitor Center for maps and information. The formal gardens and mansion are a short walk from the visitor center. Hiking trails are accessible from various points throughout the park. Note that some paths may be uneven.
