    Johnson Sauk Trail State Recreation Area is accessible via Illinois Route 78. From Interstate 80, take the exit for Route 78 and head south for approximately 6 miles. From Kewanee, take Route 78 north for about 5 miles. Follow the signs for Johnson Sauk Trail State Park. Parking is available throughout the park near trailheads, picnic areas, and the lake. Parking fees are not currently charged for accessing the park's day-use areas.
