Prairie State Winery, established in 1998 by Rick and Maria Mamoser, is a charming winery located in Genoa, Illinois. What began as a humble mercantile shop has blossomed into an award-winning winery that prides itself on crafting high-quality wines with a focus on Illinois-grown grapes. The winery offers a diverse selection of over 35 wines, including dry reds, fruit wines, and unique blends that incorporate natural ingredients like ginger, key lime, and local honey. Prairie State Winery also produces spirits such as Barrel Proof Brandy, Apple Brandy, and Gin. Wine tastings are available at the bar, where visitors can sample seven wines for a fee (waived with a 4 bottle purchase), or try a wine flight consisting of four half-glasses. In addition to its wines, Prairie State Winery features a full-service kitchen that serves shareable dishes, sandwiches, and flatbreads. The winery also hosts live music events, both indoors and in their enchanting wine garden, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
