From various points in Naperville, take Route 530 to a stop near S Brainard Street. From there, it's a short walk to the site. A single ride on Pace Bus costs $1.75. Reduced fares are available for seniors and students.

If driving, the Fort Payne Historic Site is located at 450 S Brainard St, Naperville, IL 60540. From I-88, take the exit toward IL-59/Springbrook Trail. Merge onto IL-59 and continue south. Turn left onto 75th St. Turn right onto S Brainard St. Free parking is available on-site. Parking is also available in downtown Naperville in several parking lots. Three-hour parking is free. All-day parking is available in the Central Parking Facility: Level 3, Van Buren Parking Deck: Level 2 – Roof Level, and Municipal Center Parking Deck: Weekdays (after 5 p.m.) and Saturday, Lower Level and Upper Level. Daily fee parking at the DuPage Children's Museum costs $3 per day.
