    Hofmann Tower is located at 3910 Barrypoint Rd, Lyons, IL 60534. From the intersection of 39th Street and Barrypoint Road, head south on Barrypoint Road for about 0.3 miles. The Hofmann Tower State Historic Site will be on your left. There is no fee to enter the grounds.

    The Village of Lyons is accessible via Pace bus routes. From nearby towns like Oak Lawn, take the Pace Bus Route 349 towards Cicero Ave. Get off at 39th St and Cicero Ave, walk east on 39th St, and turn right onto Barrypoint Rd. The tower will be about 0.3 miles down the road on your left. A single ride on Pace costs $1.75.

    Hofmann Tower is located at 3910 Barrypoint Rd, Lyons, IL 60534. From I-55, take exit 277 for Joliet Rd/US-66. Head east on Joliet Road, then turn north onto First Avenue. Continue onto Barrypoint Road, and the tower will be on your right. Free parking is available next to the site.

The tower's design is said to be inspired by a bridge tower Hofmann saw in Germany, featuring four corner turrets atop the structure.In its heyday, the area around Hofmann Tower, then known as Niagara Park, attracted visitors with picnic spots and boat rides. The tower itself was even reputed to be the first building in Lyons to be lit by electricity. In 1978, the tower was added to the National Register of Historic Places.Today, Hofmann Tower offers a serene escape for nature lovers and history enthusiasts. Visitors can explore the grounds, enjoy a walk along the Des Plaines River, and appreciate the tower's unique architecture. Although the tower is currently closed to the public due to its deteriorating condition, the surrounding area provides a scenic spot for relaxation and recreation.
