Driving
LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve is located at 37W700 Dean St, St. Charles, IL 60175. From downtown St. Charles, head west on IL-64/Main Street. Turn left onto Kirk Road, then turn right onto Dean Street. The preserve will be on your left. Parking is available within the preserve, but it can be limited during peak times. Parking is free.
Public Transport
Pace offers public transportation options in Kane County. Pace On Demand service has designated travel zones, including St. Charles and Geneva. Use the Pace On Demand app or call to reserve a ride within the service area. Single fares vary, so check the Pace website or app for current rates. Ride in Kane provides curb-to-curb service for seniors and individuals with disabilities. Registration is required, and fares start at $5.00 for the first 10 miles.
Walking
From nearby residential areas on the west side of St. Charles, LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve is accessible via sidewalks and trails. Use Dean Street to access the main entrance. Once inside the preserve, follow the marked trails to reach various attractions such as the Creek Bend Nature Center, Durant House Museum, and Pioneer Sholes School.
