From anywhere in Rock River Valley, get onto IL-2 N (North 2nd Street) if you're in the southern parts. Follow IL-2 N for approximately 5 miles. Turn left onto IL-251 N and continue for about 3 miles. Then, take a right onto River Rd. After about 1 mile, you will see the entrance to Deer Run Forest Preserve on your left at 5691 River Rd, Cherry Valley, IL 61016. Make sure to check for parking availability upon arrival.
