From Schaumburg, head to the nearest Metra station, which is Palatine Metra Station. Take the Metra Union Pacific Northwest line towards Chicago, and get off at the Ogilvie Transportation Center. Once you exit the station, transfer to the CTA 'L' trains. Take the Pink Line towards 18th and get off at the Damen stop. Walk to the Damen bus stop and catch the #9 Ashland bus towards the 35th-Bronzeville-IIT stop. Disembark at Michigan & Washington. You will be just a short walk from the American Writers Museum at 180 North Michigan Ave.

From Schaumburg, locate the nearest Pace bus stop and catch the #607 bus towards the Woodfield Mall. When you reach Woodfield Mall, transfer to the #226 bus towards the Higgins & Meacham stop. Get off at the Algonquin & Michigan stop and transfer to the #90 bus towards the Michigan & Washington stop. The American Writers Museum will be a short walk from there at 180 North Michigan Ave.
