Discover more about Schaumburg Town Square

Schaumburg Town Square, located at the southwest corner of Schaumburg and Roselle Roads, is the heart of the Olde Schaumburg Centre Historic District. This redeveloped area serves as Schaumburg's "downtown," offering a blend of cultural, commercial, and recreational opportunities. The Town Square is home to the Schaumburg Township District Library, the second-largest public library in Illinois, which attracts over a million visitors annually. The Trickster Cultural Center and a seasonal Farmers Market add to the Square's cultural appeal. Throughout the year, the Town Square hosts a variety of events, including concerts, dance performances, yoga sessions, and community festivals. Originally, the intersection of Schaumburg and Roselle Roads was the shopping hub for the surrounding farming community, dating back to the 1850s. In 1970, the first Town Square Shopping Center was established to meet the needs of the growing suburban population. The village of Schaumburg purchased the shopping center in 1995 and redeveloped the 27-acre site into the Town Square that exists today. The redevelopment, completed in 1998, created a diverse area with stores, offices, and a public amphitheater. Today, visitors can enjoy a variety of dining options, including Walker Brothers Pancake House, Bonefish Grill, and Oberweis Dairy. The Town Square also features a pond, gazebo, sculptures, and gardens, providing a pleasant environment for relaxation and community gatherings.
