From the Old State Capitol, walk approximately two blocks south on 6th Street, then turn left (east) onto Capitol Avenue. The Illinois State Capitol Building will be on your right. This is a straightforward, short walk within downtown Springfield.

From I-55, take the Sangamon Avenue exit and head east. Follow Sangamon Avenue to 9th Street, then turn right (south). Continue on 9th Street to Capitol Avenue, then turn left (east). The Capitol Building will be on your right. Parking is available at the Capitol Complex Visitors Center on College Street, with entrances on Edwards Street.
