Take any Sangamon Mass Transit District (SMTD) bus route that heads toward downtown Springfield. Disembark at the stop near E Madison St and 5th Street. From there, walk one block east to Union Square Park, located at 500 E Madison St. A day pass costs $3.00.
Parking
Parking is available in the Museum Parking Garage, located on the corner of Sixth and Madison Streets. The rate is $0.75 per half hour, and the garage is open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily. Street parking is free after 5 p.m. on weekdays and free all day on Saturdays and Sundays.
