    From downtown Waukegan, head to the Waukegan Transit Center located at 200 E. Washington St. Take the Pace Bus Route 570 towards Zion. The bus will take you north. Stay on the bus for approximately 20-25 minutes. Get off at the stop for Illinois Beach State Park, which is near the intersection of 21st St. and Lake Front Dr. Walk to the park entrance, which is just a short distance from the bus stop.

    Bike

    If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bike from a local shop in Waukegan. Start by heading east on Grand Ave until you reach Sheridan Rd. Turn left on Sheridan Rd and continue north. Follow Sheridan Rd until you reach the intersection with 21st St. Turn right on 21st St, then make a left onto Lake Front Dr. Continue straight until you reach the entrance of Illinois Beach State Park. The total distance is approximately 6 miles.

    Walking

    For those who enjoy a long walk, start from downtown Waukegan and head east on Grand Ave. After about 1 mile, turn left on Sheridan Rd. Continue walking north on Sheridan Rd for about 3 miles until you reach 21st St. Turn right on 21st St and walk until you reach Lake Front Dr. Turn left onto Lake Front Dr, and you will find the entrance to Illinois Beach State Park shortly after.
