Public Transit - Bus
If you're starting from downtown Waukegan, make your way to the closest bus stop at the Waukegan Transportation Center located at 200 E. Clayton St. Take the Pace Bus Route 565 towards 'Gurnee Mills' and ride for about 15 minutes. Disembark at the stop located at 'Blanchard Rd & W. Greenwood Ave.' From there, walk south on Blanchard Rd for approximately 10 minutes (0.5 miles) until you reach Lyons Woods Forest Preserve, located at 10200 Blanchard Rd. The entrance will be on your right.
Walking
If you're near the Waukegan Public Library, head south on Genesee St towards the intersection with Grand Ave. Turn left onto Grand Ave and walk east for about 0.8 miles. Continue straight until you reach Blanchard Rd, then turn right. Walk about 1 mile south on Blanchard Rd until you arrive at Lyons Woods Forest Preserve at 10200 Blanchard Rd.
Biking
For those with a bike, start at the Waukegan Harbor. Take the scenic route along the lakefront trail heading north until you reach Sheridan Rd. Turn left onto Sheridan Rd and bike north for about 1.5 miles until you reach Grand Ave. Turn right onto Grand Ave and then left onto Blanchard Rd. Continue biking for another mile until you reach Lyons Woods Forest Preserve at 10200 Blanchard Rd.
