Rulchawm Kua is a historical site in Rulchawm village, about 40 km east of Aizawl, Mizoram. It's known as the cave where sacrifices were made to a serpent in ancient times. According to legend, a large serpent resided in this cave, demanding a daily human sacrifice from nearby villagers. A brave young man eventually killed the serpent by offering it goat meat wrapped around a sword.Today, not much remains of the cave, which was said to be huge and extremely long. However, the site is noteworthy because snake worship was rare in the animistic days of the Mizos. Visitors can explore the area and learn about the local Mizo heritage. The landmark provides a tranquil atmosphere for tourists seeking to immerse themselves in the region's cultural tapestry. The natural surroundings offer scenic views and a peaceful retreat.
