Car Nicobar: A Tranquil Island Paradise

Car Nicobar, also known as Pū in the local Car language, is the administrative headquarters of the Nicobar district in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. This remote island, approximately 270 km south of Port Blair, offers a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural richness. Geographically, Car Nicobar stands out for its remarkably flat terrain, with only a few cliffs in the north and small hills inland. However, the island's history is also marked by the Japanese occupation during World War II and the devastating tsunami of 2004, which caused widespread destruction and loss of life.
