Ferry
The primary way to reach Katchal Island is by government-operated ferry from Port Blair (now known as Sri Vijaya Puram). Ferries depart from Phoenix Bay Jetty. The journey can take approximately 31 hours to reach Campbell Bay, which is near Katchal, as it is roughly 300 nautical miles from Port Blair. Check the Directorate of Shipping Services website for schedules and booking. Ferry tickets for Indian nationals can be booked 4 days in advance. Non-Islander fares vary. Keep in mind that schedules and ticket prices are subject to change.
Helicopter
Another way to reach Katchal Island is via helicopter from Port Blair, which is offered by the government of Andaman and Nicobar. This is a faster but more expensive option. Contact the local administration in Port Blair for availability and booking details. Helicopter services have subsidized prices for islanders and government members.
