Road and Boat
To reach the Limestone Caves from Port Blair, begin with a journey via the Andaman Trunk Road (ATR). This involves either hiring a private cab (approximately ₹4500 for a round trip) or taking a government bus. The road trip includes a ferry crossing at Middle Strait, where a vehicle ferry transports you and your vehicle to Baratang Island. From Baratang jetty, take a 10-seater fiber boat (₹900 per person) through mangrove creeks to the trekking point. A 1.2 km trek through the forest leads to the caves. Cave entry tickets cost ₹5-10 per person.
Public Transport
From Port Blair, take a government bus to Baratang Island. Buses depart from the main bus stand and the journey includes a ferry crossing at Middle Strait. Bus fares are approximately ₹50-100. Upon arrival at Baratang, hire a shared jeep or auto-rickshaw to Nilambur Jetty (₹50-100). From Nilambur Jetty, take a boat to the entry point of the Limestone Caves (₹900 per person). Finally, trek 1.2 km through the jungle to reach the caves. Cave entry tickets are ₹5-10 per person.
