To reach Ross and Smith Islands, begin at Aerial Bay Jetty in Diglipur. Hire a local fisherman's boat or speedboat for the 25-minute ride to the islands. Boats typically operate between 8 AM and 2 PM, subject to weather conditions. A forest permit is required and can be obtained from the Forest Office in Diglipur. The permit costs ₹50 for Indian tourists and ₹500 for foreign tourists. Boat tickets can be purchased at the jetty. Expect to pay around ₹5,500 for a 5-seater speedboat or ₹8,500 for an 8-seater.
