Car
Sela Lake is located off the NH13 highway, close to Sela Pass. From Bomdila, drive approximately 100 km towards Tawang on NH13. The drive takes around 3 hours. Sela Lake is located just before descending from Sela Pass. Look for signboards. Parking is available near the lake. Note that road conditions can be challenging, especially during monsoon and winter. Be sure your vehicle is equipped for high-altitude travel.
Public Transport
To reach Sela Lake using public transport, start from Tezpur, Assam, which has the nearest airport and railway station. From Tezpur, shared taxis, private cabs, and buses are available to Bomdila or Tawang. From either of these locations, you can find transport to Sela Pass, where Sela Lake is located. Expect an 8-10 hour journey from Tezpur to Sela Pass. Costs: * Shared taxi from Tezpur to Bomdila: Approximately INR 700-1000 [estimated based on general rates]. * Bus from Tezpur to Bomdila: Approximately INR 500-800 [estimated based on general rates]. * Taxi from Bomdila to Sela Pass: Approximately INR 2500-4000 [estimated based on general rates].
