The Regional Science Centre, Bhopal (RSCB), established in 1995, is located in the Shyamla Hills area and stands as a beacon for science enthusiasts and curious minds. As a constituent unit of the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), it's dedicated to popularizing science and technology, fostering a scientific temper, and encouraging curiosity among the public, particularly students. The center boasts over 266 interactive exhibits covering a wide array of scientific disciplines. Visitors can explore the Hall of Energy, learning about different forms of energy and the importance of renewable resources. The Atmosphere Gallery, also known as the Umbrella Gallery, highlights the significance of our atmosphere. The 5-acre campus includes a 3-acre Science Park with over 60 exhibits, including pulley demonstrations, windmills, and solar-powered devices. A Dinosaur Park and a small zoo add to the center's appeal. RSCB also features a miniature planetarium with a capacity of 25, offering shows about stars and constellations. A 50-seater AC hall hosts 3D science shows, and a telescope is available for observing the movements of planets and moons. The center also organizes a sky observation program on weekends and during specific astronomical events. A Mobile Science Exhibition bus travels to remote villages in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, creating scientific awareness through demonstrations, films, and lectures. The center hosts various events, including awareness programs, exhibitions, student exhibits, science fairs, and special lectures by scientists. Contests, film shows, workshops, and drama festivals are also organized to celebrate special days.
