Regional Science Centre, Bhubaneswar: A World of Discovery

The Regional Science Centre, Bhubaneswar, established in 1989, spans eight acres and is dedicated to science popularization. As part of the National Council of Science Museums, it aims to cultivate a scientific temper, especially among students in Odisha. The center features three main galleries: Motion, Mathematics, and Popular Science. The Motion Gallery explores various facets of motion, from cosmic origins to the movement within our bodies. The Mathematics Gallery reveals the applications of mathematics in everyday life and highlights Indian contributions to the field. Visitors can also enjoy a Science Park with interactive outdoor exhibits and a Prehistoric Life Park featuring animated dinosaur models with a storytelling light and sound show. The Science Park includes exhibits on physics, astronomy, biology, and environmental science. Visitors can explore an Astronomy Corner with telescopes and an Eco Zone focused on environmental awareness. The center also hosts temporary exhibitions and celebrates events like Science Day and Earth Day with workshops and competitions. Mobile Science Exhibition buses bring science to rural schools, extending the center's reach.
