Rajgir Glass Bridge: A Walk Among the Hills

The Rajgir Glass Bridge, situated in the historic city of Rajgir, Nalanda district, Bihar, is an architectural marvel that blends modern engineering with the region's rich historical and natural beauty. Inaugurated in 2021, this transparent glass bridge spans across the Ghora Katora Lake, offering visitors a unique and thrilling experience. Inspired by the famous Hangzhou Glass Bridge in China, the Rajgir Glass Bridge is constructed with three layers of 15mm glass and can accommodate up to 40 people at a time, though safety measures often limit the number to 15-20. The 85-foot-long and 6-foot-wide bridge is located within the Nature Safari Park, surrounded by five picturesque hills, providing panoramic views of lush green valleys, ancient landmarks, and the historic Rajgir town. Rajgir itself is a significant historical and religious site, having served as the capital of the Magadha kingdom and a place where Lord Buddha meditated and taught. The bridge enhances the area's tourism by offering not only a thrilling walk in the sky but also access to other attractions within the Nature Safari Park, such as zip-lining, nature park safaris, and adventure sports like air cycling. The bridge aims to integrate tradition with contemporary architectural marvels, providing a unique vantage point to view the sacred sites of Rajgir.
