Bhimbetka Rock Shelters: A Window to Prehistoric India

Nestled in the foothills of the Vindhyan Range, approximately 45 km south of Bhopal, the Bhimbetka Rock Shelters are an archaeological treasure trove. This UNESCO World Heritage Site comprises seven hills and over 750 rock shelters adorned with ancient paintings. Today, visitors can explore a selection of these rock shelters, including the Auditorium Cave, the largest of them all, and marvel at the King's Rock or Chief's Rock at the entrance.
