Alternatively, if you are near the Ghoom market area, take the main road towards Hill Cart Road. Walk uphill for about 500 meters until you see an archway that signifies the entrance to Ghoom Monastery (Samten Choeling). The monastery is slightly elevated, and you may need to navigate a few steps to reach the entrance.
Public Transport (Shared Jeep)
You can also opt for a shared jeep from Ghoom. Head to the nearest jeep stand, which is usually located near the market area. Board a jeep heading towards Darjeeling and tell the driver to drop you off at Ghoom Monastery. This ride will cost you around ₹20-₹30 per person. From the drop-off point, it is a short walk (approximately 200 meters) to the monastery.
Trekking
For the more adventurous, you can trek to Ghoom Monastery from Darjeeling. Follow the scenic trails through the lush greenery. The trek will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water along. The trail leads you directly to the monastery.
