Once you arrive in Jodhpur, follow the signs to Mehrangarh Fort. Parking is available near the entrance but may incur a small fee (usually around ₹50-₹100).
By Train
For travelers using public transportation, the nearest railway station is Jodhpur Junction. You can board a train from major cities in Eastern India such as Kolkata or Varanasi. Once you arrive at Jodhpur Junction, take an auto-rickshaw or a taxi to reach Mehrangarh Fort, which is approximately 5 km away. The auto-rickshaw fare will typically cost around ₹100-₹150.
By Bus
Buses are also available from various cities in Eastern India to Jodhpur. Look for state-run buses or private bus services that operate long-distance routes. Upon arriving at the Jodhpur bus station, you can take an auto-rickshaw or taxi to Mehrangarh Fort, which is about 3 km away. Expect to pay around ₹50-₹100 for this short ride.
Walking
If you are staying near the fort area, you can consider walking to Mehrangarh Fort. It is a scenic walk, and you will pass through the vibrant streets of Jodhpur. However, be prepared for the uphill trek to the fort entrance. The fort is open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM, and there is an entrance fee of approximately ₹600 for Indian tourists and ₹1200 for foreign tourists.
