Alternatively, from New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), hire a taxi or shared jeep to Kalimpong. Shared jeeps are available from around 7 am to 3 pm and cost approximately ₹250-₹300 per person. A private taxi will cost between ₹3,000 and ₹4,500. Local taxis within Kalimpong are readily available for local sightseeing. Hourly rentals range from ₹250 for 1 hour (10 km) to ₹1011 for 6 hours (60 km). Full-day rentals for sightseeing range from ₹1,400 to ₹2,000.
