Walking
If you are in the main market area of Gangtok, start at MG Marg (Mahatma Gandhi Marg), a popular pedestrian street. From MG Marg, head east towards the intersection of Tibet Road. Once you reach this intersection, turn right onto Tibet Road. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you see the sign for the Gangtok Ropeway on your left. The entrance is located at Vishal Gaon, and you will need to walk up a small incline to reach the ticket counter.
Local Bus
From MG Marg, you can also take a local bus heading towards Deorali. Look for buses labeled 'Deorali' or 'Vishal Gaon' at the bus stop. The fare is quite economical. Once you arrive at the Deorali bus stop, disembark and walk straight for about 200 meters until you see the signs directing you to the Gangtok Ropeway. Follow the path uphill to reach the entrance.
Shared Taxi
If you prefer a quicker option, you can take a shared taxi from MG Marg. Look for shared taxis at the designated taxi stand. Inform the driver you want to go to the Gangtok Ropeway. The fare is usually around INR 30-50, depending on the number of passengers. The taxi will drop you off at the entrance of the Gangtok Ropeway, which is located at Vishal Gaon.
