Getting There

Shared Taxi
To reach the Rumtek Dharma Chakra Centre from Gangtok, head to the main taxi stand located near MG Marg. Look for shared taxis heading to Rumtek. The fare is usually around ₹30-₹50 per person. Once you board, the taxi will take you through the scenic route. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Inform the driver of your destination, and they will drop you off at the entrance of the monastery.

From the SNT (Sikkim National Transport) bus station in Gangtok, look for buses that go to Rumtek. The bus fare is quite economical, around ₹15-₹20. Buses may run every 30 minutes or so, so check the schedule upon arrival. The bus ride will take about 45 minutes. Get off at the Rumtek Monastery stop, which is well marked, and follow the signs to the Dharma Chakra Centre.
