    Discover more about Arambol

Arambol Beach, also known as Harmal Beach, offers a different Goan experience compared to the crowded beaches of the south. Located in the northernmost part of Goa, it's about 35 km from Panaji. This once-sleepy fishing village transformed into a haven for hippies in the 1960s and 70s, drawn by its pristine beauty and tranquil environment. The influence of this era is still evident in Arambol's free-spirited and welcoming atmosphere. The beach itself is a mix of rocky and sandy terrain, with gentle waves perfect for swimming. A short walk north leads to a smaller, more secluded beach with a freshwater lake, known as the Sweet Water Lake or Vagkolam. This lagoon, fed by natural springs and surrounded by palm trees and cliffs, offers a serene spot for a refreshing dip. The mud around the hot springs is believed to have healing properties. Arambol is more than just a beach; it's a cultural hub. The evenings come alive with drum circles, fire shows, and live music, creating a magical atmosphere. You can find yoga and meditation classes, wellness centers, and markets selling handmade jewelry, clothing, and souvenirs. The Banyan Tree, where the Beatles once meditated, is another point of interest. Despite its popularity, Arambol has managed to retain its rustic charm. It's a place where you can relax, connect with nature, and experience a unique blend of cultures.
