Chef Kamal's Indian Cooking Classes

Restaurant-style cooking class

This cooking class was a great experience. I wanted to delve deeper into Goan cuisine, and the instructor taught me thoroughly. I also learned about practical operations in an actual restaurant kitchen, which was very informative. This is a highly recommended cooking class in a great location close to the beach.

Authentic Indian Cooking Classes

Fabulous cooking class

This cooking class was an absolute delight. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed effusive and made to feel right at home. We were given a range of glorious home made snacks while being talked through what we would be cooking that day and the basics of Indian cooking and spices. Once we had finished the fabulous snacks, we started making the first of our many dishes. The part that was great was that we weren't just told instructions about how to cook the dishes, but we were told about all the other dishes that these base sauces and spices could make, and the alterations necessary to do this. There was a LOT of information, but all recipes and spice recommendations, along with lots of additional recipes were shared afterwards via WhatsApp. The kitchen was incredibly clean and hygiene standards high, with cleaning up happening along the way. We sat down after our efforts to enjoy a delicious meal (with way too much food) and some great chats. Well worth the visit.

Private Market Visit and Cooking Class in Goa with a Local Family

The highlight of our trip

Rita and Mukund were wonderful hosts and teachers, taking my wife and I through a number of Goan dishes ranging from appetizers, to main courses, desserts and even masala chai. The market tour was a highlight of our trip to India, and Rita answered so many questions we had about all the wonderful local produce we got the chance to see and taste. The cooking time was very educational and fun, and tasting all the food at the end was the cherry on top. I would absolutely recommend Rita and Mukund’s class to anyone visiting Goa who wants to come away with a greater appreciation for the local cuisine. We hope we get the chance to come visit again someday!
