Walking
From most guesthouses on Hippie Island, Sunset Point is easily accessible on foot. Head west, keeping the rice paddies to your left. You'll soon reach a rocky hill; the trail involves a climb over the boulders to reach the top. The walk takes approximately 10-15 minutes. There are no entry fees or tolls.
Public Transport
If arriving from Hampi, take a ferry or coracle from near the Virupaksha Temple to Virupapur Gaddi (Hippie Island). Ferries typically operate from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM and cost ₹50 per person. In the late hours, the prices may be higher. From the Vijayanagara hotel on Hippie Island, walk towards the west, keeping the paddy fields on the left. Then follow the directions for walking to reach Sunset Point.
Taxi
From Hospet, hire an auto-rickshaw or taxi to Hampi. The auto-rickshaw ride costs approximately ₹120-₹200. Ask the driver to take you to the ferry point near Virupaksha Temple. Cross the river via ferry (₹50 per person). Once on Hippie Island, follow the walking directions to Sunset Point. Alternatively, a taxi can take a longer route to Hippie Island, approximately 40 km from Hospet, costing ₹1500-₹1800.
