Enchanting Retreat: Hadimba Forest Block

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Shimla, take the NH5 towards Mandi. Continue on NH3, which leads you directly to Manali. Once in Manali, look for signs to Old Manali. Drive along Hadimba Temple Path, which will lead you to the entrance of Hadimba Forest Block. The total distance is approximately 250 km and may take around 7-8 hours depending on road conditions.

• Bus

  From major towns like Shimla or Dharamshala, you can take a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus to Manali. Buses frequently operate on this route. Once you arrive at the Manali bus station, take a local taxi or auto-rickshaw to Old Manali. The fare for a taxi from the bus station to Hadimba Temple Path is around INR 200-300. After reaching Old Manali, you can walk to Hadimba Forest Block, which is just a short distance from the temple.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more comfortable journey, consider hiring a taxi from nearby towns. Taxis can be booked in advance, and they can take you directly to Hadimba Forest Block. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand. The cost might range from INR 1500 to INR 2500 from places like Kullu or Manali, depending on the distance and vehicle type.

• Local Transport

  Once in Old Manali, you can also use local transport options such as auto-rickshaws or cycle rickshaws to reach Hadimba Forest Block. The fare for an auto-rickshaw from the Old Manali market is approximately INR 50-100. This is a convenient way to enjoy the local scenery as you travel.
