Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Shimla, take NH5 towards Aut. Continue on NH5 until you reach Aut. From Aut, take the road leading to Ropa Valley, which is about 10 kilometers away. The road is scenic but can be narrow and winding, so drive carefully. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel as there are limited services along this route.

• Public Bus

  From major towns like Shimla or Manali, you can take a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus to Aut. Buses are frequent and are a budget-friendly option. Once you reach Aut, you can hire a local taxi or take a shared taxi to Ropa Valley, which is about 10 kilometers away. The cost of the bus ride can vary, but expect to pay around ₹200-₹300. The taxi fare from Aut to Ropa Valley should range between ₹200-₹400.

• Shared Taxi

  If you’re in Aut and prefer a quicker option, you can take a shared taxi directly to Ropa Valley. Shared taxis are usually available near the bus stand. This option is slightly more expensive than a bus but offers more comfort and speed. The fare per person is approximately ₹100-₹150, depending on the number of passengers.

• Walking

  For the adventurous traveler, if you enjoy trekking, you can walk from Aut to Ropa Valley. The distance is around 10 kilometers and takes approximately 2-3 hours. The trail is surrounded by beautiful landscapes, but make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water and snacks. This option is free but requires a good level of fitness.
