Car
If you are traveling by car from Srinagar, take NH44 towards Anantnag and then follow the signs to Pahalgam. The journey takes approximately 2 to 3 hours depending on traffic. Once in Pahalgam, head towards Aru, which is about 12 kilometers from Pahalgam. You can park at Aru and then follow the trail leading to Lidder River Valley, a 30-minute walk from the village. Make sure to carry water and snacks for the trek.
Public Transportation
To reach Lidder River Valley via public transport, take a bus or shared taxi from Srinagar to Pahalgam. The bus ride takes about 3 hours and costs around INR 200-300. Upon arrival at Pahalgam, look for shared taxis going to Aru. The fare is about INR 100-150 per person and the ride takes around 30 minutes. From Aru, follow the walking trail to Lidder River Valley, which is about a 30-minute hike.
