Car
If you're driving from Srinagar, head north on the NH1 towards Baramulla. After around 50 km, take the exit for the Pahalgam road (state highway 1A) and continue straight. After approximately 20 km, take a left turn onto the Chowkibal road. Follow this road for about 30 km until you reach Budnumbal. Mountain Kashmir is located at CX62+W82 in Budnumbal, Chowkibal. Ensure you have a GPS or a reliable map, as some parts of the route may not have clear signages.
Public Transportation
From Srinagar, you can take a bus to Baramulla (approximately 2 hours, fare around ₹100). Upon reaching Baramulla, switch to a local bus or shared taxi heading towards Chowkibal (this will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, fare around ₹150). Once in Chowkibal, you may need to hire a local taxi or auto-rickshaw to reach Budnumbal. Confirm with the driver that they can take you to CX62+W82, Mountain Kashmir.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Srinagar. The drive to Budnumbal, Chowkibal will take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic. Taxi fares can vary, but expect to pay between ₹3000 to ₹4000 for a one-way trip. Make sure to agree on the fare beforehand and confirm if the driver is familiar with the location.
Local Transport
Once you reach Chowkibal, you can use local transport options like auto-rickshaws to cover the last stretch to Budnumbal. These rides should be relatively inexpensive, costing around ₹50 to ₹100. It’s advisable to ask locals for directions if you feel unsure about the route.
